Description[edit | edit source]

Plum Ford Road is a Franklin county road that terminates at the Meramec river between Sand Ford and Redhorse. This access is extremely remote, and there are reports of conflict with nearby landowners. There is no designated parking area.

Coming to the end of the road is a gravel bar. At this point, the river narrows into a deep chute that can be a bottleneck for jetboats and paddlers. Motor vessels should exercise caution on the upstream approach, and paddlers should likewise verify that the chute will be clear before passing unter the power lines.
