Description[edit | edit source]

Floating into Eminence on a saturday afternoon during peak season will feel like a fair or a festival. Folks who want peace and nature need to plan for a weekday float.

The two miles upstream and downstream of Eminence are outside of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways park, which can mean more boats or different priorities from law enforcement. The State of Missouri grants the public access to boat, paddle, and wade the river up to the normal high water mark, which is marked by where permanent vegetation like bushes and trees start to grow. Avoid areas marked with purple paint, flags, or tape - this is a Private Property No Trespassing convention for Missouri.

Always boat sober and leave no trace!

Highlights of this float include Alley Spring and Eminence Bridge.

Gauge[edit | edit source]

The lower Jacks Fork, from Alley to Two Rivers, is **floatable year round** thanks to the springs that feed it. You can get an idea of the current levels using the gauge at Eminence.

Unsafe: At 6.4ft (~3700CFS), the park will close the river.
